Paul Mitchell 2021 FUNraising Season
What is FUNraising?
Each year, students and staff from 100+ Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools raise money and awareness for selected charities. Raising $5–10 at a time with grassroots activities like cut-a-thons, hair shows, and car washes, we've raised over $22 million in 17 years!
What charities are we donating to this year?
This year, we have chosen both a national charity, The Andrew Gomez Foundation and local charity, The Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento as recipients of our funds raised.
Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation was founded to honor a successful Paul Mitchell School graduate whose struggle against mental illness ended tragically in suicide. The foundation helps cosmetology students, graduates, their families, and cosmetology-related enterprises. Funds have provided educational opportunities, hurricane relief, and support in the fights against breast cancer, domestic violence, and other destroyers of self-esteem.
The Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento is committed to positively impacting the lives of children, youth, and families affected by abuse, neglect, behavioral health issues, and trauma in California. With their programs, they have helped over 72,000 children to receive refuge through emergency shelter. Last year, more than 1,700 people received suicide prevention resources and 86% of youth were discharged to permanent homes.
A few ways we are raising money:
Givebutter is an online donation platform that our school is using to collect donations for our chosen charities this year. This platform makes it quick and easy to donate, and even includes a “Supporters” wall so that donors can leave notes of support and encouragement. Each Future Professional has their own unique link and QR code so that they can obtain credit for the donations from their friends and family.
